Cylindrical thrust roller bearings

Cylindrical thrust roller bearings are designed to accommodate large axial loads and shock loads.
They must not be subjected to any radial load.

As standard, Cylindrical thrust roller bearings are single-direction, but there are also double-direction bearings:

  • Single-acting bearings can only accommodate axial load in one direction.
  • Double-acting bearings can accommodate axial loads in both directions.

SKF supplies cylindrical roller thrust bearings in different series:

  • Bearings in series 811 and 812 have one row of rollers
  • Bearings in series 893 and 894 come with two rows of rollers

Benefits and features:

Detachable construction:
The shaft washer, housing washer and cylindrical roller bearing can be mounted separately.
Simplifies both installation and maintenance, saving time and reducing costs.

Longer shelf life:
Modified line construction between the raceways and the rollers, which results from the roller ends having a small clearance.
This is to prevent voltage peaks.

Requires little axial space:
This is because the bearings are very stiff.

Temperature limits:

The permissible operating temperature for SKF cylindrical roller thrust bearings may be limited by:

  • dimensional stability of bearing washers and rollers
  • holder
  • lubricant

NOTE: Some lubricants can, at high temperatures, have a detrimental effect on polyamide holders.
