A bearing in a guiding position must be axially secured in the housing. If the bearing seat in the housing does not match the bearing width, guide rings (stabilizers) must be used. Usually two guide rings are required per bearing housing. The rings should be placed on each side of the bearing. If only one guide ring is required, it should be installed on the same side as the lock nut.
